Stephanie G. Cox
Stephanie has been practicing law since 1986 when she received her Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She moved her law practice to Virginia in 1994 and concentrates primarily in the areas of Family Law, including divorce, child custody, support and marital property rights, as well as Criminal Defense and traffic cases.
Stephanie is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and now lives in Blacksburg, Virginia with her husband. She is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Kentucky and is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Kentucky Bar Association. She currently serves on the Family Law Steering Committee for the Montgomery-Radford Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Committee. Stephanie has been a speaker and presenter at numerous seminars in Virginia and Kentucky in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense, respectively.
Elizabeth J. McNeil
Liz is Stephanie’s legal assistant and office manager and they have worked together since 2000. She is likely to be the first point of contact when a client calls, emails or comes into the office. Through her years of work in the legal field, Liz understands that people have many questions and concerns when first making contact with a law office and she is here to help. Though she cannot give legal advice, Liz is well versed in communicating with clients to obtain and relay important information, as well as schedule appointments and phone conferences with Stephanie. Through her many years of service, Liz is very familiar with the local court system and personnel as well as other legal professionals in the community.
Liz is originally from Blackstone, Virginia and obtained her Associates Degree from New River Community College in 1997. She has also earned a number of credits in legal assisting. She worked for several years with local banks before becoming the office manager at Stephanie’s previous firm and Stephanie’s legal assistant in 2000. Liz and Stephanie enjoy working together to provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to the firm’s clients.
